Steamcraft fejléc

We are delighted to announce that the STEAMCRAFT project was showcased at the “STEAM for Tomorrow: From Erasmus+ Results to Skills and Policy in Higher Education” conference, which took place on 30–31 October 2025 at Johannes Kepler University Linz.

Highlights of the event

  • The conference brought together over 60 participants from across Europe including researchers, policymakers, project coordinators and representatives of the European Commission.
  • The focus was on elevating the visibility of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) methodologies in higher education, reinforcing networks in the European STEAM community, and advancing policy recommendations around skills and key competences.
  • Break-out sessions explored topics such as STEAM for teacher education, designing curricula around future skills, and integrating artificial intelligence in STEAM frameworks.

STEAMCRAFT’s contribution

At the conference, the STEAMCRAFT team from JKU had the opportunity to present the project’s mission, methodology and early results—highlighting:

  • our innovative approach to sustainability education through the game-based platform Minecraft
  • how STEAMCRAFT aligns with transversal skill-building (critical thinking, creativity, digital literacies) in adult learning contexts
  • the relevance of our work to policy agendas in higher education, particularly in the fields of cross-disciplinary learning and digital innovation
